Franklin or the short look-back combination recommends SCHP or an inflation protection ETF.

Pauling or the default look-back combination recommends VTI.

McClintock uses the long-term look-back combination and the recommendations is to also stick with VTI.

Since most of you are likely using the default or 60- and 100- trading days combination, it is best to stay with VTI.

Tomorrow I will update the Franklin portfolio, one of three Dual Momentum portfolios participating in a look-back experiment. This is another check to see which of the three different look-back periods is providing the best return/risk value. While it is still early in this experiment, we are beginning to see which portfolio is superior.

For comparison, I hope to post both the actual values for the Jensen Alpha and the slope of the trend over the past few months. Both values are useful. Check in tomorrow as I should have the data available by 1:00 p.m. EST or 10:00 a.m. PST.

Tomorrow I am more than happy to ring out 2020 with a review of the McClintock portfolio. While this has been a good year for stocks, it has been a dreadful year for many people all over the globe. We are up to 320,000 Covid-19 deaths in the U.S. and we could easily pass the number who died in the Civil War.

The hope is that we will witness a return to some political normality and social morality.

January and February look to be devastating months on our healthcare workers so physical distance, wear a mask, and wash your hands. These suggestions do not require a PhD in Astrophysics.

Next week the Gauss, Kepler, and Aristotle are scheduled for review. The Aristotle is a Dual Momentum portfolio so that one will be easy to update. The Gauss and Kepler require a few more decisions or judgment calls. Both are managed using momentum principles, but I've altered some of the rules so they follow Let'em Run principles.

Wishing everyone a Healthy and Happy New Year.

1. Substitute VO for VTI to represent U.S. Equities in DM portfolios. Over the long run, I think VO has been the better performer, but I'm not sure if dividends were included. Check this out on your sources.

2. In Relative Strength portfolios, limit the Strategic Asset Allocation percentage to something lower than 100%. This will force the Kipling to diversify the portfolio.
