Portfolios In General

I think most of the ITA portfolios are set up to handle the anticipated volatility coming in 2026. In general, the plan is to encourage owners of the various portfolios to continue to save so I am able to dollar-cost-average. The hope is to take advantage of market dips as they show themselves over the next 12 months.

SHV will be used as a holding tank for cash in order to capture higher interest than paid through money markets.

Long-Term Treasuries

I sold long-term treasuries out of all ITA portfolios. Unless I missed one, shares of IEF and TLT were removed from all portfolios.

The Chinese are unloading treasuries so we need to find new borrowers to finance the 38 to 39 trillion dollar national debt. The debt will close in on 45 trillion by the time Trump leaves office. It may even be higher depending on interest rates and inflation.

Buffett Indicator

As U.S. Equities move higher so does the Buffett Indicator. The value now rests around 225% or well above where it was during the dot com bubble. Keep in mind this indicator has called the market overvalued for the past six years.

Here is a link to a few other market valuations. Most are strongly overvalued. I am taking a cautious route in preparation for a rough 2026.

December Focus

Throughout this month I plan to set all portfolios up so they are set to survive 2026 with minimum trading.

Schrodinger: Will operate as usual based on the computers at Schwab. This is a passive portfolio or what is generally known as a Robo Advisor portfolio.
Carson, Franklin, and McClintock: These three portfolio will continue to be managed using the Sector BPS model.
Gauss, Kepler, Einstein, Millikan, Huygens, Bohr, Bethe and Pauling will follow a defensive asset allocation model.
Copernicus: This portfolio will continue to follow an equity only model, but will make use of recommendations that come out of the Kipling spreadsheet.

To learn how these different models work it is best to follow along as the different portfolios are updated and reviewed.

It will be a busy week as four portfolios are scheduled for an update. Schrodinger is one of the four and I am always interested in how the Schwab computers will manage the portfolio considering the recent volatility. I expect few changes unless there is some tax harvesting.
