HedgeHunter mentioned in one of his fairly recent blogs that he is using BIV instead of SHY as his "cutoff" ETF.  Another alternative is SHV.

If you are familiar with Yahoo-Finance, run a comparison between SHY, BIV, and SHV and you will see BIV and SHV are more stable in price compared to SHY.

Seeing this kind of evidence, I too will be moving to either BIV or SHV for the "cutoff" or "circuit breaker" ETF.

To make the change, go to the Portfolio tab in the Kipling and type in either BIV or SHV to replace SHY.  This change opens up the possibility of including SHY as an "investment arrow."
