The Schrodinger is the one passively managed portfolio among all the portfolios tracked here at ITA Wealth Management. This is a computer managed portfolio, or what I call the experimental Robo Advisor portfolio. With this portfolio I do nothing except invest money.
The reason for running this test was to respond to a question, “Who will manage the family portfolio when I die?”
Schrodinger Investment Quiver
Below is the current investment quiver for the Schrodinger. As you look down over the Description, you will note a significant number of international ETFs. If I were setting this portfolio up to be computer managed I would reduce the overall number of securities and definitely reduce exposure to international equities.
Schrodinger LRPC Recommendations
When the investment model is set to LRPC and the maximum number (19) to include all ETFs, all are a Buy at this time. I think this is the first time I remember seeing every ETF in the quiver listed as a Buy.
Keep in mind that the Kipling is not used to manage the Schrodinger. This is truly a hands off or passive portfolio.
Schrodinger Performance Data
The following data runs from 7/31/2017 through 9/3/2020. As you can see from the pie chart, a large percentage of the portfolio is invested in international equities and that is one of the main reasons the portfolio lags the VTHRX benchmark.
Schrodinger Risk Ratios
In a few more months there will be sufficient data to provide clues as to how well the Schrodinger is performing based on the risk involved. The September values will be updated at the end of the month.
