I have just installed the Kipling workbook, and it appears to be working correctly.  Now I find myself at the bottom of a deep mine shaft, with many unrecognized tools hanging from ropes, but each one a possible element to an escape plan.  How can I learn about all the inputs, charts, and features of the spreadsheet?

Paul,

As portfolios are updated I'll attempt to go into more detail, at least for a few, how I make decisions and how I use the Kipling.  The easiest to understand are the Dual Momentum portfolios.

The Copernicus and Schrodinger are buy and hold accounts so the Kipling is not needed.

What I don't go into is how I use the Risk Ratios as that is much more complicated.  That material is very specialized and requires quite a bit of manual labor.

Can you describe the "LRPC_Chart" and "HA_Charts" sheets?

LRPC_Chart will give plots when I choose an active symbol from the dropdown, but HA_Charts only give an error box:

Procedure: SheetChange Line 190 Error (13) Type mismatch.

I'll let Hedgehunter describe the LRPC and HA models.  I find the HA model frequently comes up with recommendations that match the BHS model recommendations.

I am very interested in installing and learning to use the Kipling spreadsheets.  What are the hardware and software requirements? I ask, as I currently only use Chromebook and have not used Microsoft products or hardware since my retirement a few years back.

Thanks,
 - Lee

Lee,

The Kipling is supported only on Windows machines running Excel.  I have Windows 11 and the latest version of Excel and all works fine.  I think some folks have Kipling working on a Mac with Parallels.

These links are getting a tad old, but are still useful.

@lowell

Later today, I'm buying a Microsoft Windows laptop with the current Excel.  After I have it up and running, I'll get back to you about buying the ITA lifetime subscription.

Thanks again,
 - Lee

The spreadsheets are no longer downloading the data.  I get "error" in cell J15 on sheet Adj Close.

Paul,

Did I send you the latest version of the ITA file and do you have it installed?

I am having the same issue downloading data. I get "error" in cell J15 when I try to download Yahoo Data, but works fine when I use Tiingo data.

Paul,

This video is on the old side, but it gives readers some clues as to how to use the Kipling.

If you are having problems with the Kipling, send me an e-mail at itawealth@comcast.net and be sure to identify your full name so I know you are a Lifetime member.  I'll send you the updated ITA file that is necessary for downloading data.
