Next to the Schrodinger portfolio the Copernicus is the easiest to manage. In addition, the Copernicus is the top performer so that tells us something. Keep it simple. With the Schrodinger, all one does is electronically transfer money from a checking account into the broker, Schwab in the case of the Schrodinger, and let their computer manage the money. With the Copernicus, I make the buy decisions. Unless there is an emergency, the logic behind the Copernicus is to only purchase U.S. Equity ETFs. I use the Kipling spreadsheet to determine which of the four ETFs to invest in when cash is available.
Copernicus Security Holdings:
Below are the current holdings within the Copernicus. The latest Kipling ranking system has VOO number one. When the market opens tomorrow I plan to purchase as many shares of VOO as possible based on the $2,000 cash available.
Copernicus Performance Data
Since 12/31/2021 the Copernicus is topping the S&P 500 (SPY) by over 11 percentage points. The gap is even wider when compared to VTI, VT, AOA, and AOR.
At the bottom of the list readers will find the performance of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, NASDAQ, and S&P 500. It is interesting that SPY is besting its index, S&P 500.
Copernicus Risk Ratios
Many investors will argue that a 100% equity portfolio is highly risky. Based on the Jensen Performance Index the Copernicus is running counter to this argument as it performed rather well during the poor market in 2022. It was a good time to be buying shares when the market was down. Fortunately the owner of this portfolio was able to continually add new cash to the account so money was available to purchase more shares.
The Copernicus is designed for a young person with some purchasing power to continue to infuse the portfolio with cash on a monthly or weekly basis. As new cash is added, continue to purchase shares in the U.S. Stock Market. Either VTI, VOO, or SPY are excellent ticker choices.
