Just a few words before HedgeHunter releases the latest revision of the Kipling spreadsheet.
- Excel works best on Windows computers. If you are working on a Mac, I recommend installing Parallels (think I have that right) so you have a Windows look-alike on your Mac. I've been using Excel since the earliest days of the software and I've found it is always a bit crippled when running on a Mac computer. I never use Excel on my Mac. Excel work is always done on a Windows 10 computer.
- Keep your Excel version current.
- You will need to install the ITA Add-In on your Excel version to make the spreadsheet work properly, so follow HedgeHunter's instructions on how to do this carefully.
- After the ITA Add-In is installed and you download any of the Kipling versions, be sure to run Fix-Links. I find I need to do this at least twice.
- Download Yahoo! data and then use the Yahoo names to fill in the description column.
- If other issues crop up, we are here to help Platinum members.
HedgeHunter is very good about answering questions. However, don't overload him. I'll try to answer questions when I am able, but I don't know the "inner-workings" of the spreadsheet since I am not the author. Herb will provide many answers to the back-testing as he has been a key contributor in that area.
Now be patient until you hear the release information from HedgeHunter.
