What changes occurred, if any, after the strong market we experienced yesterday (10/10/2013)? The following Sample portfolio shows both the rankings and the Buy-Hold-Sell Recommendations. International equities occupy the top three positions followed by several U.S. Equity ETFs. It is quite a switch to see international ETFs leading the way. Call it reversion to the mean.
Sample ETF Rankings: As you look over the following table, do not overlook the Absolute Momentum column as we are interested in ETFs that are highly ranked and exhibit a positive percentage. This table will give investors using the weighted momentum model a starting point for today’s market.
Buy-Hold-Sell Recommendations: The following table points to a portfolio concentrated in international and U.S. Equities. Even emerging markets (VWO) is in on the action to the tune of 5.4%. Some investors will choose to set up a concentrated portfolio by reducing the Weighting Filter to something below 9. I selected 9 so no one individual ETF dominated with more than 20% of the portfolio.
