McClintock Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 15 December 2025

December 15, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

McClintock is the Sector BPI portfolio up for review this morning.  The three Sector BPI portfolios are investment models unique to the ITA blog.  For more information on this model, go to the Categories menu found in the right sidebar and look for Sector BPI. While we frequently wait for months between Buy and Sell […]

Franklin Sector BPI Portfolio Update: 24 November 2025

November 24, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Franklin is one of three portfolios using the Sector BPI investing model.  This model was developed here at ITA.  After patiently waiting many months for one or more sectors to drop into the oversold zone, we have recently had quite a bit of action due to recent market volatility.  The Franklin currently holds ETFs in […]

Carson Sector BPI Portfolio Update: 21 November 2025

November 21, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Managing Sector BPI portfolios requires patience as it is not unusual to wait months before we see a Buy or Sell signal.  In the last two to three months we have had sector action as a number of sectors dipped into the oversold zone.  In other words, several sectors moved below the 30% bullish line […]

McClintock Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 11 November 2025

November 11, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

The McClintock is positioned much the same as it was last month.  Materials and Consumer Staples are the sectors of interest.  Several other sectors dipped into the 30% bullish zone and I set some limit orders to purchase one-half the target percentage or one-half the recommended shares when a Buy is triggered.  These limit orders […]

Carson Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 24 October 2025

October 24, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Carson is one of three portfolios using the Sector BPI investing model and it is one of the better performing accounts.  Since the last update the Materials sector dropped down into the low 30% bullish zone so I jumped the gun and added 35 shares of VAW to the Carson.

McClintock Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 9 October 2025

October 9, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Faced with the high probability U.S. Equities is in for a correction, if not worse, how should an investor manage their portfolio?  The decision is much easier for Sector BPI portfolios such as the McClintock, Carson, and Franklin as this investing model is designed to take advantage of market volatility.  The decision is not […]

Carson Sector BPI Portfolio Update: 22 September 2005

September 22, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

We begin Fall with an update of the Carson portfolio, the original Sector BPI portfolio.  When Consumer Staples dropped into the oversold zone I added more shares of VDC not realizing the Carson already held shares representing this sector.  That is why the portfolio has an abundance of this security. This morning I invested the […]

Franklin Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 3 September 2025

September 3, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

In keeping with the conservative position I added another 12 shares of SHV to the Franklin portfolio.  Since no sectors are oversold something needs to be done with available cash that comes in from dividends and new cash.  Should we see a market draw-down of 10% or more, I plan to sell shares of SHV […]
