Gauss Migration To Sector BPI Model: 27 December 2022

December 26, 2022 By Lowell Herr

Gauss and Millikan are two portfolios I’m shifting over to the Sector BPI Model as neither is performing at a level expected.  The following analysis explains the process I’m using for this migration.  Both portfolios were considered Relative Strength portfolios where I was using the Buy-Hold-Sell (BHS) system.

Gauss Portfolio Update: 6 January 2023

January 6, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Gauss, a former Relative Momentum portfolio, is the Sector BPI Model account up for review or update this morning.  When I update a Sector BPI portfolio I collect the most recent Bullish Percent Indicator data possible.  That was very important this morning as Energy (VDE) moved above the 30% threshold or what is the over-sold […]

Gauss Portfolio Update: 13 January 2023

January 13, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Gauss is the portfolio up for review this morning and we have the first Sell signal since setting up this Sector BPI portfolio.  Follow along with the logic as to how well this might pan out for those using the Sector BPI model.

Gauss Portfolio Update: 23 January 2023

January 23, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Gauss is the portfolio up for review this morning as I missed it last week.  If you go back to last Friday’s BPI blog post you will recall that there were no Buy or Purchase recommendations.  Only Sell recommendations and those are:  Energy, Financial, and Real Estate.  Since the Carson does not hold any of […]

Gauss Portfolio Review: 31 January 2023

January 31, 2023 By Lowell Herr

We end the month of January with a review of the Gauss, one of four Sector BPI portfolios.  While there are currently four BPI sectors of the market positioned in the over-bought zone, the Gauss holds zero shares in any of these sectors.  Technology was sold last week.  The single remaining sector holding is VOX.

Gauss Portfolio Review: 28 February 2023

February 28, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Gauss needs a little work this morning as the Utilities sector is not fully populated.  Energy (VPU) is within a whisker of being over-sold so I have limit orders in place to pick up more shares of this sector.  Nothing else has changed within the Bullish Percent Indicator world.

Gauss Portfolio Review: 4 March 2023

March 4, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Based on the BPI data from this past week, nothing is required of the Gauss Portfolio.  As you see in the first slide below, Utilities (VPU) calls for a 15% position and the current position percentage is 14.9%.  Utilities is the single sector in the over-sold zone.

Gauss Portfolio Review: 10 March 2023

March 11, 2023 By Lowell Herr

As pointed out in the Bullish Percent Indicator blog post earlier this morning, five of the eleven sectors are over-sold.  I’ve selected the Gauss to show how I plan to implement this information after the market opens Monday morning.  Next week I plan to check up on the other three Sector BPI portfolios as they […]
