Gauss Portfolio Update: 19 March 2023

March 20, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Most investors prefer to keep things simple, particularly if they are still working.  If the investing model requires a little thought individuals are likely to avoid using it.  While I don’t know how many readers are using the different models tracked here at ITA, I suspect most are applying the Schrodinger, Copernicus or one of […]

Gauss Sector BPI Update: 31 March 2023

March 31, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Updating the sector BPI data this morning revealed that only Real Estate remains in the over-sold zone.  Sectors that were over-sold last weekend have since moved above the 30% bullish line.  With little cash remaining in the Gauss coffer I squeezed in a few more shares of VNQ this morning after the market opened.

Gauss Portfolio Update: 15 April 2023

April 15, 2023 By Lowell Herr

This particular blog post is another example of how to address a potential weakness in the Sector BPI investing model.  The Gauss portfolio is one of four Sector BPI portfolios so it is an appropriate candidate for this change. Gauss Investment Quiver The following investment quiver is an expansion of the Sector BPI model and […]

Gauss Portfolio Update: 19 April 2023

April 19, 2023 By Lowell Herr

The Gauss Portfolio is one of four Sector BPI portfolios or what might be better classified as a Sector BPI Plus portfolio as I’ve added two layers of ETFs in order to patch a potential weakness in the original Sector BPI hypothesis.  More on this later. The Sector BPI portfolios are built around a contrary […]

Gauss Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 8 May 2023

May 8, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Before delving into the Gauss review I need to inform readers that downloading data into the Kipling is incomplete.  ETF descriptions are missing as is dividend yield percentages.  If your Kipling SS is not filling in all the data, you are not along.  I’m not sure when this problem began last Friday.  I assumed Yahoo […]

Gauss Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 17 May 2023

May 17, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Gauss is the Sector BPI portfolio I am moving forward for a review in preparation should the U.S. default on its debt.  While there is progress, a clean debt limit increase seems unlikely. In this review of the Gauss I’ll explain a few minor changes or refinements I’m making to the management style.

Gauss Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 25 May 2023

May 26, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Gauss portfolio, one of four Sector BPI accounts, is up for review this morning.  The primary reason for this update is due to the Real Estate sector moving into the Buy zone.  Based on yesterday’s data, Real Estate dipped further into the Buy zone as only 26% of the stocks are bullish. How many shares […]

Gauss Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 31 May 2023

May 31, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Gauss is one of four Sector BPI portfolios currently managed here at ITA.  Gauss is one of the last accounts to be shifted over to the BPI management model and thus far it is just holding its own with respect to the S&P 500 (SPY).  As mentioned in prior Sector BPI portfolio reviews, I’ve tweaked […]
