We have been waiting for what seemed like months for some action within one of the eleven sectors. This morning that action arrived as Materials dropped into the oversold zone with a reading of 24.13% bearish. Oversold is defined when the number of stocks within a sector drops below 30% bullish.
As you will see, I picked up shares of VAW and have a limit order to purchase two more shares which will bring the asset allocation up to the recommended 8.4% level.
McClintock Sector BPI Portfolio
Below is the current makeup of the McClintock portfolio. Should another sector drop into the oversold zone, I will first sell shares of VTI to raise cash to populate the oversold sector.
McClintock Performance Data
Where there was little sector action and the market was moving higher, the McClintock gradually slipped below the SPY benchmark as I was holding a rather high percentage in cash. This data ranges from 12/31/2021 through this morning.
The McClintock is outperforming all other potential benchmarks.
McClintock Risk Ratios
The risk numbers also show some slippage in the McClintock performance. We hope the VAW purchase will begin to reverse the slightly negative slope in the Jensen Alpha.
