One of my favorite portfolios, the Schrodinger, is scheduled for review this morning. Why is it a favorite? 1) It is easy to manage as there is nothing to do but save. 2) Performance is excellent. 3) It is tax efficient if the account is greater than $50,000. 4) Risk is moderate. 5) Cost is zero if one does not account for ETF expense ratios.
Schrodinger Asset Allocations
Below is the asset allocation breakdown for the Schrodinger. Even if one does not add new cash, the portfolio throws off over $2,200 per year in dividends so additional shares are added to existing holdings. The computer algorithm determines how many shares to add to specific ETFs.
Schrodinger Performance Data
Since 12/31/2024 the Schrodinger outperforms all listed benchmarks. The red arrow points to SPY, the benchmark I’ve selected as it is the most difficult one to surpass. The purple arrow points to the actual performance of the S&P 500, a classic benchmark.
Schrodinger Risk Ratios
All ITA portfolios have been battling the risk-free interest rate increase, now a tad above 5.0%. Despite this downward pressure on the Jensen the slope continues to hold positive over the past year. Nearly every metric is an improvement since May of 2023. The Schrodinger is more than meeting expectations.
The Schrodinger continues to be one of the top three return/risk performing portfolios I track. If your spouse is not interested in investing, tell them to set up an Intelligent Portfolio with Schwab. The cost is zero other than the expense ratios tied to the various ETFs.
I am clearing the calendar for next week as I am having a knee replacement and don’t know how soon I’ll get back to writing blogs.

You will do well. I recently had a surprise, my first pacemaker. That was May 22 after I passed out under a red-light and caused a 3 mph fender bender. No one was hurt. My Tesla had minor damage and I had a permanent pacemaker placed two days later and was home the third day, feeling fine. Didn’t need any pain meds, the Emory Cardiologist was that good. 🙂

Lee,
Scary. Hope you are doing well. Is the doctor able to monitor the pacemaker or do you do that on your smart phone?
