When seeking financial advice my advice is to be cautious. Beware even when reading this blog. Find other sources as a check on what is posted here at ITA Wealth Management. Do not take the information found here as the gospel. Use other sources as a check. Does the information make sense? Is the author selling something other than a book?
Authors of financial books I trust are written by: William J. Bernstein, Larry Swedroe, Rick Ferris, Charles Ellis and a few others.
One of the quickest reads is "The Elements of Investing." Check the Books Category as I wrote three blogs on this book. It is a one evening read. Two evenings at most.
One on-line YouTube poster is Rob Berger. He is down to earth and his advice makes sense. Here is a link to one of his latest posts. Look up his name on YouTube and you will find multiple videos.

With a little homework one can manage your own finances rather than pay an advisor to use up your money. Keep this information in the front of your mind. It is very difficult to outperform the S&P 500. In other words, ask the prospective financial advisor to show you data showing they have outperformed either VOO or SPY over the past 15 years.
Last bit of advice in keeping it simple is to listen to Professor Howard Pollack. Check out this blog and then click on the Howard Pollack link. This is all the investment advice you need to manage your own finances.
