Headstone of Logger
This past weekend only one sector was in the Buy zone and it was Energy. The recommended percentage for the McClintock is 10.6% and we find the portfolio holds 11.6%. Not a problem. There remains over $8,000 in cash and there may be more as both VCR and VDC are holding TSLOs as Discretionary and Staples are overbought.
McClintock Security Holdings
Had Energy (VDE) not reached the recommended percentage I would have added more shares since Energy is still oversold. Excess cash is used to purchase more shares of VTI and VOO. I currently have several limit orders in to add more shares of VOO and VTI to the McClintock.
Since the goal of the McClintock is to equal or outperform the S&P 500 I prefer adding more shares of VOO vs VTI. If there is insufficient cash to add more shares of VOO I place limit orders for VTI as it is priced lower than VOO.
Third quarter dividends have yet to be added to the McClintock.

McClintock Performance Data
Since 12/31/2021 the McClintock is lagging the SPY benchmark, but is outperforming the actual S&P 500 index. The portfolio is also outperforming all other potential benchmarks other than VTI.

McClintock Risk Ratios
During the month of September the McClintock fell behind the SPY benchmark do to holding too much cash. We see the lack of performance in the Information and Jensen Ratios. Over the past year the Jensen slope is nearly flat at 0.09. At least September of 2024 was superior to September of 2023.
