Millikan is the final portfolio to be reviewed in November. One more month to close out 2024. Do to a few portfolios launched in late December of 2021, I use 12/31/2021 as the launch date for all ITA portfolios even though a few go back to the 1960s. I don’t have data going back that far as I was using a different program to keep track of performance. One program was a DOS program if any of you can recall what a DOS program was. I used Quicken for a period of time, but in the very early days there was a problem with interest calculations. I assume that issue has been resolved years ago as the problem arose about 30 years ago.
The Millikan just completed two years of operating under the Sector BPI model and thus far has performed very well as readers can see in the second and third screenshots.
Millikan Current Holdings
Check on the latest Forum post and you will see no changes are recommended this week. Energy is the only sector held in the Sector BPI portfolios and it has yet to reach the overbought zone. No sectors are oversold so there are no buying opportunities. When this is the situation we look to VOO and VTI to use available cash. Had we held cash and not investing in either VOO or VTI, this market would have walked away (to the upside) from investors.
I have one limit order in place to purchase a single share of VTI.

Millikan Performance Data
Since 12/31/2021 the Millikan is edging out the S&P 500 ETF, SPY by a small percentage.
Over the past two years, operating under the Sector BPI model, the Millikan generated an IRR of 21.2% while SPY came in with a little higher IRR of 21.8%. This data comes from the Investment Account Manager software and is not shown below. Once more, it is very difficult to outperform the S&P 500 index. In a bull market any cash is a drag on the portfolio.

Millikan Risk Ratios
Over the past year the Jensen Alpha held steady as the slope (-0.05) is nearly flat. As we see from the data, the Millikan was performing better in late 2023 than it is here in late 2024.
