North Most Point in Europe – Norway
McClintock is the Sector BPI portfolio up for review this morning. As mentioned in Forum entries, several changes occurred recently and even more since the update last month. Eliminating sectors holding a single share, the McClintock now is holding five sectors. They are: Materials, Discretionary, Staples, Industrials, and Utilities.
McClintock Sector BPI Holdings
Each of the oversold sectors are holding a percentage slightly higher than the target. A reasonable question is, what percentage to invest in each sector? I use a three-year volatility percentage. The more volatile the sector the higher the recommended percentage. Excess cash is invested in either SCHO or SGOV.

McClintock Performance Data
Since 12/31/2021 the McClintock managed to outperform the two iShares benchmarks, but fell well short of the SPY ETF. The McClintock was not using the Sector BPI over this entire period. For that IRR performance information check the final screenshot.

McClintock Risk Ratios
While each risk ratio is higher than it was a year ago, performance dipped this past month or since the last update. The good news is that the Jensen Alpha is still positive with a very high value of 0.26.

McClintock Sector Performance
I began using the Sector BPI investment model with the McClintock around 10/15/2023 or nearly three years ago. Over that period of time the McClintock generated an annualized IRR of 27.8% while the S&P 500 returned an IRR of 22.7%. If this type of performance continues through a major market correction or recession, the hypothesis of the Sector BPI model will merit special consideration.
The * attached to each asset under the IRR For Period column simply means the security was not held over the entire period. This is to be expected as shares were bought and sold from time to time.
