ITA Wealth Management blog has been “semi-dead” for a number of days as I’ve been on a road trip. Now that I am back, prepare for an unusual number of portfolio reviews in a relative short period of time. The update of the McClintock is the first. Fortunately, little action took place within this portfolio over the past two weeks and it continues to do rather well since I altered the investing strategy.
McClintock Security Recommendations
The McClintock is built around an expanded version of the Dual Momentum™ model. The number of equity and bond options expand on the DM approach. I am employing the Buy-Hold-Sell (BHS) system and the default look-back combination.
As readers can see below, all ETF options call for a sell. Instead of selling outright, I have TSLOs set for all securities and the TSLOs percentages range from 6% to 8%. VWO is a new purchase so I set the TSLO at 7%. VOO and VTI rank highest so I set the TSLO at 8% for these securities. In several cases, the TSLOs were set when the McClintock was last reviewed a number of weeks ago.

McClintock Manual Risk Adjustments
No action is called for other than to set Trailing Stop Loss Orders (TSLOs) for all holdings.

McClintock Performance Data
Coming up on 21 months of data, the McClintock is nearly dead even with the S&P 500 (SPY) benchmark and is outperforming all other potential benchmarks.

McClintock Risk Ratios
Two positive notes regarding the risk ratios. 1) The Jensen Performance Index improved slightly despite the increase in the short-term risk free interest rate. 2) The Information Ratio is a tad higher.
The slope of the Jensen, while still negative, improved since the last review when it was more than negative 2.

Be sure to check in tomorrow as the Bullish Percent Indicators may come through with new information for those employing the Sector BPI Plus investing model.
