Gauss Portfolio Review: 28 April 2025

April 28, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Gauss is one of the simplified Asset Allocation portfolios in that only four ETFs are used.  SHV is used as a holding basket when cash becomes available.  Due to the chaotic market I set TSLOs under VOO and SCHG as I assume the current administration will make several mistakes that will have a negative […]

Gauss Portfolio Review: 28 May 2025

May 28, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Gauss is another portfolio using a truncated asset allocation model or one where very few ETFs are used to populate the portfolio.  In other words – Keep it simple.  In keeping with caution in this uncertain economic environment, I placed a 4.5% Trailing Stop Loss Order (TSLO) under VOO and a 2.0% TSLO under SCHG.  […]

Gauss Portfolio Review: 27 June 2025

June 27, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Gauss is one of the mini-asset allocation portfolios or one where very few ETFs are used to populate the portfolio.  Since the last review all shares of SCHG were sold and the cash was converted to shares of SHV, a short-term treasury.  While U.S. Equities rebounded from the April depression point, the fundamentals that this […]

Gauss Asset Allocation Portfolio Review: 31 July 2025

July 31, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

July ends with the update of another “mini” asset allocation portfolio.  Gauss brings July to a close.  As with similar portfolio structures I am tilting toward income vs. growth until the political environment shows some stability.  If and when we observe market weakness, at that time I will make an effort to slowly move […]

Gauss Portfolio Review: 25 August 2025

August 25, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Gauss is another mini-asset allocation portfolio where only a few ETFs are used to populate the account.  In keeping with a “preserve capital” attitude, I have limit orders in place to sell shares of VOO and SCHD.  With SCHD I split the sell orders.  One order is set to sell approximately one-half the shares at […]

Gauss Revised Asset Allocation Portfolio Review: 5 September 2025

September 5, 2025 By Lowell Herr 4 Comments

Instead of a complete review of the Gauss portfolio, I am laying out a new and expanded asset allocation model for this account.  This new asset allocation plan is global compared to the mini-asset allocation model currently in place.  Check the Gauss portfolio at the bottom of this post to compare the asset allocations. This […]

Gauss Asset Allocation Portfolio Review: 17 September 2025

September 17, 2025 By Lowell Herr 5 Comments

Gauss is another asset allocation portfolio that is undergoing a rebalancing process.  This morning I sold off some shares of SHV so as to begin to rebuild the equity holdings such as VO, VB, VEA, VWO, and VNQ.  See the process below.

Gauss Asset Allocation Portfolio Review: 8 October 2025

October 8, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Gauss is another Asset Allocation (AA) portfolio that is in the middle of the rebalancing process.  The goal is to have all the AA portfolios close to balanced before we enter 2026.  In all cases I am reducing exposure to U.S. Equities as this market is far overvalued.
