If you wish to receive notifications of new blog posts you need to subscribe by clicking on the bell icon found in the lower right section of each page. That icon is where you can also unsubscribe if you prefer not to receive notifications.
I believe my blog notification is only set up to operate with Chrome and Firefox. It may not work with Safari, but then who uses Safari (g).
