TSLOs took out all the holdings in the three Carson portfolios so this is an appropriate time to adjust the investment quiver to something simpler.  Here is a back-test from Portfolio Visualizer.  Check out the six ETFs I plan to use with the three Carson portfolios.

Look for these changes to show up when the update takes place on Wednesday.

Lowell,

Thanks for commenting on the Portfolio Visualizer again.  It has been awhile.

I changed the time range to 2015 to present and noticed that QQQ was usually included among the three monthly securities.  So, I took out QQQ and reran the model.  Without QQQ, the Final Balance of the Momentum Model was less than that of the Vanguard benchmark.  Supports why we like to have QQQ in most of our quivers.

Have there been studies on how TSLO's affect longer-term Portfolio performance like this one?  Drawdowns could be smaller, but could some/all of this benefit be offset by 'missing out' on some gains due to premature selling ?

@stellaluna - Jim, Correct.  I don't see technology backing out of the limelight in the future and that is why I plan to keep QQQ active in nearly all, if not all portfolios.

@domino99 - Steve, To my knowledge there are no studies showing how TSLOs impact portfolio performance.
