Franklin Portfolio Update: 7 March 2023

March 7, 2023 By Lowell Herr

The Franklin is not scheduled for a full review.  I want to begin the March risk ratios so this is an update for this Sector BPI portfolio.  Checking the Bullish Percent Indicators (BPI) data this morning, nothing significant changed.  Utilities continues to be over-sold and that is the sole sector that is under the waterline.

Franklin Portfolio Review: 16 March 2023

March 16, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Franklin is one of four Sector BPI portfolios tracked here at ITA.  This is a unique investment model not found elsewhere to my knowledge.  If you are following the Sector BPI method the other three portfolios are:  Carson, Gauss, and Millikan. What happens when multiple sectors fall into the over-sold zone and the recommended percentage […]

Franklin Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 23 March 2023

March 23, 2023 By Lowell Herr

The Franklin portfolio is one of four Sector BPI accounts I’m tracking here at ITA Wealth Management.  Moments ago I updated the sector section of the BPI spreadsheet and found only three sectors are currently positioned in the over-sold zone.  Those three are:  Energy (VDE), Materials (VAW), and Real Estate (VNQ).  Real Estate dropped from […]

Franklin Portfolio Update With A Bard Example: 12 April 2023

April 12, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Franklin (named for Rosalind of DNA fame) is the portfolio scheduled for an update this morning.  Moments ago I checked the latest Sector BPI data and Utilities (VPU) remains in the overbought zone.  The recommendation is to place a 3% Trailing Stop Loss Order (TSLO) under VPU, assuming investors are holding that ETF in their […]

Franklin Sector BPI Update: 18 April 2023

April 18, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Franklin is one of four Sector BPI portfolios.  Perhaps I should title these portfolios, Sector BPI Plus as each now contains more than the eleven (11) sector ETFs in an effort to patch one of the potential holes in the Sector BPI hypothesis.  Past sector blogs explain in more detail the flaw in the Sector […]

Franklin Sector BPI Plus Review: 26 April 2023

April 27, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Franklin is the Sector BPI portfolio scheduled for review this morning and each time I update one of these portfolios a new wrinkle comes to the fore.  This review required a special decision since Telecom (VOX) moved into the oversold zone and there was insufficient cash to purchase shares of VOX.  Franklin did hold Utilities […]

Franklin Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 12 May 2023

May 12, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Franklin is one of four portfolio currently managed using the Sector BPI Plus model.  Yesterday I updated the Bullish Percent Indicator table (to be published tomorrow) and Telecom (VOX) was a Buy recommendation.  Energy (VDE) is very close to a Buy.  Look for the BPI data tomorrow. Franklin Investment Quiver and Current Holdings Below is […]

Tweaking Sector BPI Plus Model: 20 May 2023

May 20, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Second to the Copernicus investing model, the Sector BPI Plus model ranks highest based on performance or Internal Rate of Return (IRR).  When last reported, the Carson carried the least amount of risk and the other Sector BPI portfolios were not far behind.  With such strong performance, why mess with a good thing?  The minor […]
