Below are the stock screen settings and the results from the screens. Here is a link to show what all is involved in the F Score screen.
Stock Screens: Below are the screens I set up to capture stocks that meet both value and momentum requirements. The Count On shows how many stocks met a particular screen. There are over 6500 stocks in the database.

Stock Screen Output: Nine stocks currently meet the above requirements. Stryker and Target are familiar names.

Lowell,
Thanks for the information on the Piotroski Score. I have been a member of AAII for many years and subscribed to Stock Investor Pro and used the Piotroski Score for stock selection. In recent years I have invested in ETFs’ to the exclusion of individual stocks so I have not resubscribed to Stock Investor Pro. With that said, at this time selecting individual stocks may provide better results. My guess is that you decided to start this topic because you and others have also come to the same conclusion. My question is how would go forward with individual stock selection? Would you have 33 day reviews? Would you use Piotroski for stock selection? Would you provide a stock screen spread sheet that would be available to ITA members? I guess the answer to these questions would depend a lot on how much interest there would be. Please count me as interested.

Richard,
One of the primary reasons for adding a stock option is to add an additional service to readers. I too moved away from selecting individual stocks to choosing ETFs. I think the only stock held in any of the portfolios is Berkshire Hathaway, and that is to provide another benchmark for a few portfolios.
Going forward I plan to present a list of stocks every week – likely on Monday. The screen, if I rely only on one, would be similar to what you see above in this blog post. The Piotroski screen is part of the screen I am using. If I were to consider a stock, I would put it into the Kipling spreadsheet and review the results every 33 days. Let me think about running a test on the current list of stocks showing up in the current screen. Hope to do this later this morning.
Lowell
Lowell,
Thank you. That would be a nice addition.

Richard,
If using only the Piotroski screen with the default SIP setting, the score is set to eight (8). Since I have a number of other screens, I lowered the score to 7. Otherwise I might end up with no stocks, which would be OK.
