
“Skinny” Bridge – Amsterdam
The Hawking Portfolio is a low maintenance portfolio with the focus on “income” from a selection of Closed-End-Funds (CEFs). Over the past couple of months I have trimmed this back to a portfolio holding 25 of these Funds, each with a nominal allocation of 4% of portfolio value. If Cash is not required immediately the only real action that needs to be taken is to invest dividends received (many of them monthly distributions) in under-allocated assets.
Performance of this portfolio over the last ~18 months looks like this:
… well ahead of the benchmark AOR fund. After July dividends were received I had ~$900 Cash to invest, so I added additional shares of KIO and BGH to the portfolio. Current holdings look like this:
and we’re good for another month.
