McClintock Portfolio Review: 14 July 2022

July 14, 2022 By Lowell Herr

McClintock is one of several Dual Momentum™ portfolios tracked here at ITA Wealth Management.  Momentum is one of the five factors included in the Fama-French Five-Factor Model.  It is not fully understood why momentum is such an important market anomaly and why it works.  But it does and that is why I highly recommend a […]

McClintock Portfolio Review: 19 September 2022

September 19, 2022 By Lowell Herr

McClintock is one of four Dual Momentum™ portfolios and one of the better performers.  With the market up slightly this morning, what advice is likely to come out of the Dual Momentum recommendation.  Follow along for more information.

McClintock Portfolio Review: 23 November 2022

November 23, 2022 By Lowell Herr

Of all the Dual Momentum™ portfolios, the McClintock stands out as the top performer.  The exact reason remains somewhat of a mystery.  I attribute the excellent performance to the luck-of-review-day as the operational model is the same for all the DM portfolios. Based on five years of data with four different Dual Momentum (DM) portfolios, […]

McClintock Portfolio Review: 29 December 2022

December 28, 2022 By Lowell Herr

McClintock is the top performing Dual Momentum™ portfolio tracked here at ITA.  The recommendation to remain in International Equities has not changed since last month.  Instead of three securities I broadened the options to seven (7) although the focus is to invest 100% in a single security.  I deviate from the single investment from time […]

Pauling Portfolio Review: 18 January 2023

January 18, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Pauling is the Dual Momentum™ portfolio scheduled for an update this morning.  Of all the portfolios tracked here at ITA, Pauling is the poorest performer when it comes to annualized Internal Rate of Return (IRR) results.  As a result, I am changing the look-back period as I will show and discuss in the first screenshot.

McClintock Portfolio Review: 27 January 2023

January 27, 2023 By Lowell Herr

McClintock, one of the two Dual Momentum™ portfolios, has been one of the better performers over the years I’ve used this investing model.  Of the seven different styles of investing, Dual Momentum is one of the easier to understand and manage, particularly if you have the Kipling spreadsheet installed and operating. In addition to the […]

Pauling Portfolio Review: 21 February 2023

February 21, 2023 By Lowell Herr

When the Portfolio Performance table was last updated on February 10, 2023, the Pauling portfolio nailed down position #15 in every column.  In other words, this is the worst performing portfolio of the fifteen I track here on the ITA site.  Pauling is a Dual Momentum™ portfolio and was expected to withstand market draw-downs better […]

McClintock Portfolio Update: 28 February 2023

February 28, 2023 By Lowell Herr

McClintock, one of two remaining Dual Momentum™ portfolios, was not scheduled for an update this morning, but it was the last portfolio not updated since January.  Before moving into March, I wanted current data for the Portfolio Performance spreadsheet so that is the reason for this early post. In the following worksheet (from the Kipling […]
