For new readers, the Schrodinger is a Robo Advisor portfolio managed by computers at Schwab.  The … [Read More...]

Franklin Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 2 October 2023

Several Sector BPI Plus portfolios are scheduled for review this week.  Franklin is the first.  I checked the BPI data this morning and it is too early for any Monday data to show up.  I expected to see the market move up based on the U.S. Government remaining open for business.  Instead, the market opened down.  Interest rates are still high and the budget still needs to go through the same sieve … [Read More...]

Carson Portfolio: Creating A New Investing Model – Sector BPI

November 3, 2022 By Lowell Herr

Coming sometime over the next two month is a new investing model.  I'll classify it as a Bullish Percent Indicator ETF Sector Model.  I've hinted at this approach from time to time, but have not laid out the investing strategy in detail.  I have no … [Read more]

Bohr Portfolio Review: 25 October 2022

October 25, 2022 By Lowell Herr

Bohr is the portfolio scheduled for review this morning.  This is a combination growth-income style portfolio where the income is primarily generated by Closed-End-Funds, much as you find in the Hawking and Huygens portfolios.  The first move when … [Read more]

McClintock Portfolio Review: 21 October 2022

October 21, 2022 By Lowell Herr

McClintock is the Dual Momentum™ portfolio scheduled for review today.  As one of the top performing ITA portfolios and current holdings in SCHP and BND, no changes are needed based on current recommendations.  When one of the DM portfolios comes up … [Read more]

Schrodinger Interim Update: 19 October 2022

October 20, 2022 By Lowell Herr

Today is not the regular scheduled day to review the Schrodinger.  However, I'm gearing up to post the performance spreadsheet of all ITA portfolios I track on this blog and I use the Schrodinger as a reference since it is a Robo Advisor portfolio … [Read more]

Copernicus Portfolio Review: 19 October 2022

October 19, 2022 By Lowell Herr

Copernicus is the portfolio on the dock for updating this morning.  While performance is disappointing, this portfolio will eventually recover as new money is adding U.S. Equity shares at ever lower prices.  This is what the young investor needs to … [Read more]

Millikan Portfolio Review: 14 October 2022

October 15, 2022 By Lowell Herr

Having just returned from the Oregon Coast, I'm a tad behind in blog posts.  The Millikan was due to be posted earlier on Friday.  No harm done as the limit orders can be set at any time.  The Millikan is a Relative Momentum style portfolio and I … [Read more]

On1 Photo RAW Hints: 6 October 2022

October 6, 2022 By Lowell Herr

For ease of post-processing photographs, I find On1 Photo RAW and Luminar Neo to be among the easiest and most powerful tools available.  I recently canceled my subscription to Adobe as I found I was using Lightroom less and less.  If you love … [Read more]

Checking Up On McClintock: 5 October 2022

October 5, 2022 By Lowell Herr

Updating the McClintock generated a surprise as I expected the Dual Momentum™ model would follow the recommendation we observed for both the Franklin and Pauling portfolios which was to invest 100% of the portfolio in U.S. Equities.  Not so with the … [Read more]
