Huygens Asset Allocation Portfolio Review: 13 March 2025

March 13, 2025 By Lowell Herr

“The most important key to successful investing can be summed up in just two words-asset allocation.” – Michael Leboeuf     Huygens is the portfolio on tap for an update this morning.  This is one of the first portfolios to finally reach the target percentages.  Shares of BND and SHV were added this morning so […]

Bethe Asset Allocation Portfolio Simplified: 14 March 2025

March 14, 2025 By Lowell Herr

Bethe is undergoing a further simplification.  This time narrowing the number of assets to five Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and most likely down to four as VTI will eventually be sold out of the portfolio.

Gauss Portfolio Review: 18 March 2025

March 18, 2025 By Lowell Herr

Gauss is another simplified asset allocation portfolio.  The goal is to concentrate on three asset classes with a fourth (SHV) used to house cash.  The portfolio is very cost effective as the expense ratios are very low. A broad market ETF where VOO fits the bill.  Expense ratio is 3 basis points. A growth ETF […]

Millikan Portfolio Review: 20 March 2025

March 20, 2025 By Lowell Herr

Investors with minimum available time for portfolio management will find the Millikan, as well as several other ITA portfolios, of interest when saving for retirement.  This portfolio focuses on four ETFs.  VOO is our standard ETF to track the S&P 500.  SCHG is to add some growth punch while SCHD throws off dividends.  These dividends […]

Pauling Portfolio Review: 27 March 2025

March 27, 2025 By Lowell Herr 2 Comments

Pauling is one of the portfolios where I am simplifying or reducing the number of asset classes down to four.  One of the four, SHV, is a holding tank for cash when none of the other three are calling for a Buy.  I’ll explain this in more detail below as I go through the March […]

Copernicus Portfolio Review: 28 March 2025

March 28, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

With this portfolio review of the Copernicus comes a few adjustments.  I am adding SCHD to the existing asset classes and altering the recommended percentages to invest in each.  No plans are in the works to sell off any securities that are over target.  Instead, new cash and dividends will be used to gradually build […]

Kepler Simplified Asset Allocation Portfolio: 31 March 2025

March 31, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Kepler is nearly in balance with the simplified asset allocation model.  The asset allocation is very close to the Bogle Three ETF model.  Instead of bonds I am using SCHD and SHV.  In place of international equities I am using SCHG for a bit more growth.  Another change is the percentage invested in each asset […]

Einstein Asset Allocation Portfolio Review: 2 April 2025

April 2, 2025 By Lowell Herr Leave a Comment

Einstein is up for review this morning.  This portfolio sports a simplified asset allocation model in that it holds only four securities and one (SHV) is included primarily as an interest bearing cash holding tank.
