Huygens Asset Allocation Model Limit orders are in place to purchase more shares of VTI and VYM.  … [Read More...]

Huygens Portfolio Update: 2 March 2026

We begin the month of March with an update of the Huygens.  The asset allocation model is a combination of equities for growth and income ETFs to provide some resistance should we see a major market draw-down.  Below I will explain how I am using Trailing Stop Loss Orders (TSLOs) to reduce major losses. … [Read More...]

Franklin Portfolio Review: 16 March 2023

March 16, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Franklin is one of four Sector BPI portfolios tracked here at ITA.  This is a unique investment model not found elsewhere to my knowledge.  If you are following the Sector BPI method the other three portfolios are:  Carson, Gauss, and Millikan. What … [Read more]

Huygens Portfolio Review: 15 March 2023

March 15, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Even though CEFs have taken quite a hit recently, the Huygens continues to outperform the S&P 500 and when last updated ranked in the top quartile of the 15 portfolios tracked here at ITA.  How is the portfolio surviving in this volatile market?  … [Read more]

Schrodinger Portfolio Review: 15 March 2023

March 14, 2023 By Lowell Herr

One of two reference portfolios is the Schrodinger.  The other is the Copernicus.  Were one to lose all spreadsheets and access to databases, these two different investing models would survive and serve the investor quite well.  As for the term … [Read more]

March 14, 2023 By Lowell Herr

While the Millikan portfolio is the one I'll review this morning, this blog post goes into more detail with respect to Bullish Percent Indication graphs and Point and Figure (PnF) graphs for individual sector ETFs.  There may be some confusion and I … [Read more]

Carson Portfolio Review: 13 March 2023

March 13, 2023 By Lowell Herr

With five of eleven sectors in the over-sold zone, the Carson needs special attention.  This also applies to the Franklin, Millikan, and Gauss portfolios.  I'll be working to rebalance each this week. … [Read more]

Gauss Portfolio Review: 10 March 2023

March 11, 2023 By Lowell Herr

As pointed out in the Bullish Percent Indicator blog post earlier this morning, five of the eleven sectors are over-sold.  I've selected the Gauss to show how I plan to implement this information after the market opens Monday morning.  Next week I … [Read more]

Rutherford Portfolio Review (Tranche 4): 10 March 2023

March 11, 2023 By hedgehunter

It was a brutal week in the US equity markets with stocks down ~5% on the week: This has taken us below the 200-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) and other potential support levels at ~3940 and back into the 1 SD downtrend channel that started at the … [Read more]

March 11, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Collapse of the Silicon Valley Bank, continuation of high inflation, strong employment numbers, and the threat of default on the debt limit all rattled the stock market this week.  Two major indexes and four more sectors moved into the over-sold … [Read more]
