Bullish Percent Indicators: 15 September 2023

September 16, 2023 By Lowell Herr

While there are a few changes in the Bullish Percent Indicators this week it is unlikely any moves will impact the Sector BPI Plus portfolios.  This assumes all the Buy and Sell orders are already in place. Index BPI The NASDAQ 100 and DJIA moved from bearish to bullish indicating some large cap stocks flipped […]

Franklin Portfolio Review: 13 September 2023

September 13, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Franklin is the Sector BPI Plus portfolio up for review this morning.  No changes are anticipated as the three sectors calling for a Buy are already filled.  Utilities (VPU) is actually over-subscribed.  Cash is limited and I’ll explain what I am doing with that money.

Copernicus Portfolio Review: 12 September 2023

September 12, 2023 By Lowell Herr

The philosophy behind the Copernicus is two fold.  1) Simplicity of implementation.  2) Utilize the concept of dollar cost averaging. Young investors will find this investing model to their liking as it takes the guess work out of investing.  All one does after opening up an account with a brokerage firm such as Vanguard or […]

Gauss Portfolio Review: 11 September 2023

September 11, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Action is required for not only the Gauss portfolio, but the other Sector BPI Plus portfolios as three sectors are flashing Buy signals.  Those three sectors are:  Consumer Discretionary (VDC), Health (VHT), and Utilities (VPU).  Utilities was recommended for purchase a week or so ago while Discretionary and Health are new recommendations.

Rutherford Portfolio Review (Tranche 3): 8 September 2023

September 10, 2023 By hedgehunter

It was a weak performance in the US equity markets after the Labor Day week-end with the SPX (S&P 500 Index) down ~1.5% from last week’s close: This leaves prices in a pendant pattern bounded by the upper 2 SD boundary of the short-term bearish channel (blue line) and the lower 1 SD boundary of […]

Bullish Percent Indicators: 8 September 2023

September 9, 2023 By Lowell Herr

It did not require much intuition this week to determine the direction of the major indexes and sectors of the U.S. equities market.  However, a few surprises and opportunities show up within the sectors and action will need to be taken on Monday for those managing a Sector BPI Plus portfolio.  See the Sector BPI […]

Carson Sector BPI Portfolio Review: 7 September 2023

September 7, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Before beginning this review of the Carson I checked the sector Bullish Percent Indicator (BPI) data since Utilities moved into the oversold zone on Tuesday.  Here we are on Thursday and Utilities is still positioned at 30% bullish or recommending a purchase.  The move to add VPU is explained below.

Einstein Portfolio Review: 6 September 2023

September 6, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Einstein is one of the portfolios where I am focusing on equities, but with bond options when equities are out of favor.  As readers will see in a moment, no securities are in “full bloom” at the moment.  Several are in Hold mode.  No Buy options are showing up when the investing model is set […]

Franklin Portfolio Review: 5 September 2023

September 5, 2023 By Lowell Herr

Franklin is another Sector BPI Plus portfolio where we use sector ETFs as the primary security source based on information that comes out of the Bullish Percent Indicator data.  At this time no sectors are listed in the oversold zone and we already have all the overbought sectors either sold or still holding Trailing Stop […]
