If you are at an age where you are subject to Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from your IRA, consider donating to your favorite charities using QCDs. Here is the link for more information as to how this works.
Some brokers (TDA for one) permits one to set up a check book so you write charitable qualified checks on your IRA account.
